Fears Increase Over Growing Number of STD Infections

Health Department Advisers are uneasy over newly released reports that signify an advance in the variety of STD infections being reported. While the growth might not seem to be alarming to some, any growth in the quantity of documented cases can be combined with a increase in unreported transmissions. Although a central issue was formerly a lack of easily available chlamydia testing, that is no longer the case with the ever increasing number of ways that people can obtain std testing in Lubbock. Both the county and local health departments have attempted to make cost-effective testing available to people of all income levels, and private testing organizations have also been a good source for confidential STD testing services. “Right now there seems to be a presupposition that if you aren’t demonstrating any signs, then you are not infected.” stated one community official. “Nonetheless, any expert will advise you that many STDs show little to no symptoms, while the chance of spreading is just the same.” The only way to slow down this accelerated growth is for all at risk individuals to obtain regular STD testing for all major infections. If you feel you are at risk, or simply just do not know, the preferred measure is to call your local health department or search on the internet for “STD testing services” in order to locate a local medical laboratory that can evaluate your level of risk.
